Trudy's Short Bread

Ingredients

  • 500g Flour
  • 500g Butter
  • 175g Caster Sugar
  • 175g Cornflour
  • Pinch of salt

Method

  1. Beat the butter and sugar.
  2. Combine the flour, cornflour and salt
  3. Slowly add the dry mixture to the butter, mixing continuously
  4. Put mixture onto a floured, flat surface and need for 5 minutes
  5. Grease a baking tray (at least 38cm x 26cm x 1.5cm)
  6. Spread the mixture onto the tray and score the top with a fork
  7. Place in the fridge for 1 hour
  8. Preheat oven to 160C
  9. Place tray in oven for 30 to 35 min
  10. Remove from oven and immediately slice into squares
  11. Sprinkle with Caster sugar
  12. Place on a rack to cool
