Steamed Castle Pudding

Ingredients

  • Jam
  • 3 oz (85g) Margerine
  • 3 oz (85g) Sugar
  • 5 oz (140g) Flour
  • 1 egg
  • milk
  • vanilla essence

Method

  1. Grease moulds and put a little jam in each
  2. Cream the sugar and marge in a bowl
  3. Beat in the egg
  4. Add the flour
  5. Mix with enough milk to give a dropping consistency
  6. Add a few drops of vanilla essence and mix it in
  7. Share mixture out amonst the moulds
  8. Cover moulds with grease proof baking powder
  9. Steam for about 40min
  10. Turn out and serve with jam
