Spotted Dog

Ingredients

  • 4 oz (115g) Flour
  • 4 oz (115g) Bread crumbs
  • 3-4 oz (100g) Suet
  • 3 oz (85g) Currents
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • milk or water for mixing

Method

  1. Grate the suet
  2. Sieve the flour, salt and baking powder
  3. Add bread crumbs, suet and currents
  4. Mix to a soft dropping consistencey with milk (or water)
  5. Turn into a greased basin (or pudding steamer), cover with grease proof baking paper
  6. steam for 2-3 hours
