Jam Roly-Poly

Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225g) Flour
  • 2 oz (56g) Suet
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • Cold water to mix
  • Apricot jam

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400F (205C)
  2. Grate the suet
  3. Add suet to flour
  4. Mix with cold water to a stiff dough
  5. Roll out the suet crust pastry
  6. Spread the astry with jam to within an inch (2.5cm) of edge
  7. Moisten the edge of pastry with cold water
  8. Roll up as tightly as possible
  9. Wrap in tin foil
  10. Bake for 3/4 to 1 hour
  11. Slice and serve with more jam.
