Ginger Bread
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) flour
- 8 oz (230g) brown sugar
- 1.5 tsp ginger
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 6 oz (170g) margerine
- 12 oz (340g) golden syrup
- 250 ml milk
- 0.5 tsp bicarbonate of soda
Method
- Preheat oven to 350F (180C)
- Grease and line a loaf tin
- Mix all dry ingredients
- Warm the sugar, margerine and syrup (NOT HOT)
- Warm the milk
- Beat the egg
- Combine all ingredients and mix well
- Bake for 1.5 hours
