Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 0.5 lb (225g) bread and crust (stale bread is fine)
  • 3 oz (85g) Currents
  • 0.5 pint (285ml) milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 oz (85g) Margerine
  • 2 oz (56g) Brown Sugar
  • 0.5 tsp Mixed Spice

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400F (204C)
  2. Grease an oven proof dish
  3. Melt the margerine
  4. Cover bread in cold water then squeeze the water out
  5. Mix bread with all the dry ingredients
  6. Add margerine and milk and mix well
  7. Put the mixture into the greased dish and bake for 45min
  8. Sprinke with sugar
  9. Serve with sugar.
